Reverse Engineering a Multi Band Antenna For High Profile Litigation

Value Delivered

GreyB identified winning prior art that enabled the client to file a strong Inter Partes Review petition against the patentee to save their product worth 15 trillion USD.

Problem Solved

The client was looking for an antenna structure that included two arms, with one positioned in a first plane and the other positioned in a different plane. A promising reference was found, clearly depicting the multi-plane arrangement and curved structural elements. However, it lacked an explicit connection to the required grid dimension geometry.

Solutions Offered

A closer examination of the reference revealed a mathematical formula that indicated a scaling relationship, strongly resembling the principles behind the required grid dimension curves.

However, certain variables were missing from this formula. This led the team to break the figure into segments, overlay a grid to map elements, and then derive estimates of the missing variables. These visual estimations were ultimately mapped with the mathematical expressions to prove that the reference was indeed a 102 art.
